2kms to the East of the cottage.
How can I get from Cape Town International Airport to Villiersdorp?
Best to hire a car, and the drive is approximately 1 hour. Head over Sir Lowry’s Pass on the N2, turn left into Grabouw (possibly stop at the Orchard Farmstall), drive through Grabouw and as you are exiting you will see a sign showing left to Villiersdorp and Franschhoek. Turn left here and you are 25 minutes away.
Are there outdoor activities in Villiersdorp?
Yes, from mountain biking routes, the best Parkrun venue to sailing at the Theewaterskloof Dam, canoeing, golf and more. It is best to check with Villiersdorp Tourism for more information.
How well are the cottage kitchens equipped?
They have a microwave, stove, fridge/ freezer, kettle, coffee and tea, toaster and all the basics for light food preparation, fire pit/ braai/ barbeque (free wood). We prefer your stay includes exploring local eateries and picnics than wanting to prepare gourmet meals in the cottages 🙂
Will our bicycles be safe?
Yes, we have outside security beams and a bike rack on the patio to securely lock them up against the wall.
How close is the cottage to the dam?
The farm has over 1km of water frontage when the dam is full although, due to the gently sloping shoreline, when the level drops it can extend a few minutes walk from the cottages to over 10 minutes to reach the water’s edge.
How far is the farm from the Theewater Sports Club?
We are neighbours, so a few minutes in the car or 15 to 20 minute walk.
